The worldwide growing concerns with climate change, global warming and desertification are raising awareness for the environmental and ecological importance of the cork oak tree forests. The World Wide Foundation (WWF), who’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, has issued a report, in London, UK, on May 15, 2006, that alerts for the danger of a possible 3/4 loss of the Oak tree forests worldwide within ten years, threatening the economical and environmental crisis.
